Montana Tech environmental engineering undergraduate student Lantana Clark from Missoula, Montana has been selected for a Montana Space Grant Consortium (MSGC) Apprenticeship Award. This honor reflects Clark’s past achievements as well as present and future commitment to NASA's mission. The "Apprentice Hunter" law was enacted by the state Legislature creating the opportunity for youth years of age to hunt without completing hunter education. Each apprenticeship program creates a written agreement, or “program standards,” that are reviewed by L&I and approved by the Washington State Apprenticeship & Training Council (WSATC). Program standards clearly outline how a program will operate, and the expectations of the program and apprentices. The Registered Apprenticeship system provides opportunity for workers seeking high-skilled, high-paying jobs and for employers seeking to build a qualified workforce. Registered Apprenticeship is an employer-driven model, combining on-the-job learning with related classroom instruction and allows the Registered Apprentice to earn a paycheck from day one. This state tax credit provides businesses financial incentive to launch new, or expand their current training programs through the Montana Registered Apprenticeship unit at the Montana Department of Labor & Industry. $ tax credit for each new apprentice, or; $1, tax credit for each new apprentice that is a veteran; Tax credit takes effect.
